Norfolk Cetaceans – Update

A further Sperm Whale stranding has come to light within the recent spate of records around the North Sea. One was stranded at Busum in Germany on 13th January. That means the latest Hunstanton Whale becomes the 30th to date within the current mass stranding total. This is the largest North Sea stranding of Sperm Whales in recorded history.
The silver lining has to be that the population levels are on the up since the hunting of Sperm Whales stopped in the 1970’s.
